Tranquil, rural, Noble County, located in northeastern Indiana, is your southern gateway to Amish Country and is just 30 minutes north of Fort Wayne. Barefoot Amish children sell produce and pies in their yards while farmers with teams of horses plow the rich earth. Scenic rolling farmland is punctuated with charming small towns featuring specialty shops and vintage architecture.

Nature-lovers find 117 lakes and Elkhart River tributaries great places for year-round fishing. With more lakes than any other county in Indiana, swimming, kayaking, boating and all things water-related are favorite pastimes. Back roads bicycling, bird-watching and leisurely hiking along well-marked trails in parks and nature preserves are all wonderful ways to relax and refresh your spirit in Noble County. Five golf courses, two championship, will challenge any skill level. Visit exotic and endangered animals at Indiana’s finest sanctuary. Windmills lend an air of nostalgia at their own museum and teach the historic importance of wind-generated power. Apples are shipped throughout the country from orchards, while U-pick patches offer strawberries, blueberries, pumpkins and Christmas trees. Farmer’s Markets feature fresh-picked produce and
hand-made goods around Courthouse Square and along historic district streets.

Author Gene Stratton-Porter wrote many novels at her “Cabin in Wildflower Woods” here. Other museums, historic sites, family-owned restaurants with home-cooked meals and fabulous festivals all come together to welcome you to the area! Whether you prefer quality award-winning hotels, Victorian B&B’s, camping cabins, budget motels, lake side campgrounds or a farm-stay cabin in Amish Country, Noble County can accommodate you. Ask innkeepers about golf, romantic, girlfriend-getaway and other packages.
