Corn Mazes in The Great Lakes Region All States

A corn maze or "Maize Maze" is a maze cut out of a corn field. Many are based on artistic designs such as characters from movies. Corn mazes appear in many different designs. Some mazes are even created to tell stories or to portray a particular theme. Most have a path, which goes all around the whole pattern, either to end in the middle or to come back out again. Some of these attractions include hay rides, a petting zoo, play areas for children, and picnic areas. Click the button below to see a list of corn mazes in the Great Lakes area and contact the corm maze directly for their fall schedule.

Agawa Canyon Tour Train - Four Seasons of Fun Michigan

Climb aboard one of the most popular train excursions in North America and enjoy a one-day wilderness excursion that will take you 114 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, over towering trestles, alongside pristine northern lakes and rivers, and through the awesome granite rock formations.

Your journey begins at the depot in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. As the train pulls away you will pass through the city's industrial area, but within minutes the forests will begin to take over, offering a very unique contrast.

Through the large picture windows of your comfortable coach, you will experience the same vistas and panoramas that inspired the Group of Seven to create some of Canada's most notable landscape art. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the many scenic points of interest that roll past your window.

During your excursion, friendly tour attendants will tell you more about this fascinating country and will share some of the history of the region and the Ojibway, miners and loggers who called this rugged wilderness home. Only the hardiest made this rugged land their home and the marks of the Ojibway, fur traders, lumberjacks and prospectors are barely discernible in this unspoiled wilderness.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all, at mile 102, you will begin to descend 500 feet over the next twelve miles to the floor of the famous Agawa Canyon, where the locomotives will be switched for the return trip.

Winter Wonderland

This is a truly unique look at Algoma Central country, clad in its mantle of snow and adorned with sparkling diamonds of ice.

As the train winds its way northward, a rugged winter wonderland will unfold before you. Snow laden trees will give way to panoramic views, towering trestles, snow-choked rock cuts, frozen lakes and waterfalls transformed into fantastic ice sculptures by the cold breath of winter.

Due to low temperatures and snow accumulation, passengers are not able to detrain at Agawa Canyon.

Summer Splendor

During the summer months, you will have almost two hours to experience the pristine beauty up close. The whole family can enjoy scenic walks on graveled trails, four waterfalls or an invigorating climb up over 300 stairs to the breathtaking Lookout platform, perched 250 feet above the tracks.

If you are looking for something more relaxing, you can stop in the Souvenir Car, enjoy a peaceful lunch in the groomed picnic areas or pull up a bench and watch the Agawa River flow by. Park rangers will also be on hand to answer questions or possibly point out some local wildlife.

Fall Color

During the fall season, Algoma Country is ablaze with color! Though peak color varies with each season, the last two weeks of September and the first week of October can offer the most spectacular color.

Due to popularity of the fall season, early bookings are recommended.

Regardless of the season, a trip to Agawa Canyon is a trip to be remembered.
